Summer Camp 2020

Thank you for an outstanding Summer Camp 2020 season! Summer Camp 2021 registration will begin in February 2021.

Our small camp (8-10 campers) is perfect to get the kids out of the house and in the fresh air. Safety is our top priority, we will keep social distancing standards, small groups, and a strict disinfecting/sanitizing/hand washing schedule.

Saddle up for an exciting summer! Blue Heron Riding Academy hosts three different Summer Camps for horse lovers from age 4-14. Blue Heron Riding Academy's Summer Camps are more than a way to fill a summer day. It's a chance for animal loving kids to spend lots of quality time with horses, making memories, and meeting new friends in a fabulous outdoor setting while building physical fitness, confidence, and a respect and love for animals.

Along with daily riding lessons, campers will learn horsemanship, feeding, horse/animal care, grooming, saddling, medical care, and so much more! During the week Campers will learn to walk, trot, and steer their assigned horse. Campers learn to ride through fun games, activities, and obstacle courses.

Why choose Blue Heron Summer Camp?

  • Great Staff. Our Summer Camp staff members are adults who are expert horse instructors and great role models. Our instructors are certified with the American Riding Instructors Association. They make learning to ride fun and successful for every child. Meet our Instructors.

  • Amazing Horses. Our school horses are apart of our successful horseback riding lesson program. They are solid citizens who love their job of teaching kids to ride. Meet our horses.

  • Hands-On Horse Time. Horse Campers ride twice each day while Barnyard Campers ride one time each camp day. Riding groups are kept small. Rides include lessons, games, and fun rides. Campers also interact with the horses during grooming, saddling, and horse chores/care.

  • Family Farm conveniently located in Chandler, IN. Blue Heron Riding Academy is located just 6 miles east of Evansville. Instruction takes place in our large indoor arena, outdoor arena, and horse playground. We also have a classroom with A/C for lunch breaks.

  • End of Camp Week Horse Show. Parents can see their camper ride on Thursday at our special Camp Horse Show.
