COVID-19 UPDATE
Safety is a top priority. We will keep social distancing standards, small groups, and a strict disinfecting, sanitizing, hand washing schedule. Our group classes are limited to 3-4 students. All horse equipment, helmets, shared equipment, etc. will be sanitized multiple times each day. Students are encouraged to bring their own ASTM-SEI approved riding helmet and riding gloves.
Details will be emailed upon booking a lesson.
Your first riding lesson...
Breathe deeply as you enter the barn for your child's first riding lesson. Smell the sweet smell of hay and horses. Be sure to peek in the stalls to visit with the horses as they happily munch away on their hay. Our arena sits right behind the barn. Come on in! Our experienced instructor and horse are waiting for you.
Have a seat in our viewing area and watch your child's face light up with joy as they learn how to groom and saddle their patient lesson horse. Off they go to the mounting block, your child's confidence grows as they begin to master asking the horse to move forward, turn, and stop. After the lesson, your child will delight in feeding their new horse friend a special treat. You are welcome to bring carrots, apples, or peppermints.
Any questions? Just ask! Our instructors will help you along every step of your child's riding journey.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
I'm interested in riding lessons, what do I need to do?
Students under age 7 may book a Little Britches Lesson at any time.
For Students age 7-Adult, we have two options. You may join our Semester Group Riding Lessons in February, May, August, or November. If we are in the middle of a semester we recommend that you start with a New Student Package.
The "New Student Package" is a package of private lessons is designed to teach beginning students the basics of grooming, tacking, and riding at a walk and trot. For students coming into our program with some previous experience, the "New Student Package" allows you to learn our grooming/tacking routines and makes sure that we put you into an appropriate group lesson. After completing this package you should be able to join a group lesson or continue with private lessons.
New Student Packages, Little Britches, and Private Lessons may be purchased through the "Book Now" buttons. If we are currently enrolling for Semester Group Lessons, you will find a Registration button below. Have more questions? We would love to hear more about you and your child to help you choose the best path for their riding journey!
